Tracy Gil

Bph Staff

I am a certified teacher of the Interactive Teaching Method for teaching the Alexander Technique.

In addition to being a teacher, I have also been a Registered Nurse for 17 years, specialising in neurology and cardiac surgery.

I became interested in the Alexander Technique when my nursing career was being hampered by chronic back pain. It proved of enormous value to me when I learned that applying the Technique could give me considerable relief from the pain.

What really inspired further interest in the Alexander Technique, however, was the change I experienced in myself as a whole. I benefited from a greater sense of well being, less tension, increased confidence and a greater clarity in my thinking. I realised the enormous potential for this work to help people, and decided to do a four-year training course to become a teacher.

I now enjoy teaching the Alexander Technique full-time, either privately or in groups. I also teach two weekends a month on a training course for teachers of Alexander's work. My other passion is teaching this work to musicians and singers, and I have taught at workshops in England and Europe. I am available to give introductory talks to any group of people interested in learning more.
